Bahrain means ‘two seas’, the only island nation in the Middle East with an archipelago of 33 islands. The island state is situated in the Arabian Gulf (Persian Gulf), east of Saudi Arabia, north of Qatar. Bahrain is home to a dynamic transport sector, with one of the oldest airlines in the Gulf Region and a causeway linking Bahrain to Saudi Arabia.
Perhaps the most unique is Bahrain's hospitality. The local Bahraini smile and warm hospitality are the things impresses you when you arrive. They are helpful and expats who stayed here and lived in Bahrain for so many years are the living proof of how warm and hospitable they are.
Language: Arabic is the local language but most Bahrainis are fluent and can communicate in English.
Currency is Bahraini Dinars. Capital is Manama.
Bahrain has resumed issuing on-arrival visas. The decision was taken following a directive by the Government Executive Committee, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, at a meeting on Thursday following recommendations by the National Taskforce to Combat Covid-19.
Important notice from Bahrain Airport Company:
All arriving passengers are only subject to COVID-19 testing at a cost of BD60. Payments can be made on arrival in cash and electronically, or in advance via the ‘BeAware Bahrain’ mobile application. Transit passengers are not required to undergo testing.
